Form 10BD and Form 10BE – What NGOs Need to Know
Since FY 2021-22, donors cannot claim 80G deductions based on your manual receipt alone.
Here’s the current process:
- Step 1: Issue your receipt immediately when you receive the donation. Use the templates above.
- Step 2: File Form 10BD on the Income Tax e-filing portal by 31st May each year. This lists all donations received during the financial
year – donor name, PAN, amount, and payment mode. - Step 3: Download Form 10BE for each donor from the IT portal after filing 10BD. Share this certificate with your donors. This is what
they now need to claim their 80G deduction in their ITR.
Your manual NGO receipt + Form 10BE together keep both your NGO and your donors fully compliant.
